Virtual Shop Window in Güstrow
Since the spring of 2014, the Regiopole Region of Rostock has worked together with the Barlach Town of Güstrow on the “Virtual Shop Window Güstrow” pilot project.
“regio:polis” Art and Culture Festival
The “regio:polis” art and culture festival took place again in 2014, from the 4th to the 12th of October. The aim was to allow cultural events to take place and be enjoyed in unusual places, building a bridge to the economy in so doing. The festival, organised for the first time in cooperation with the municipality of Guldborgsund in Denmark, was a notable success for the Regiopole Region of Rostock.
In autumn, the Regiopole Region of Rostock gained additional partners and broad support in the district of Rostock and the Hanseatic city of Rostock. A regiopole region cooperation agreement was signed by the towns of Bad Doberan, Güstrow, Ribnitz-Dammgarten, Teterow, the City of Rostock, the district of Rostock, the Rostock Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Rostock Region Marketing Initiative, and the Ministry of Energy for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. On the basis of this agreement, a joint application for funding from a number of partners to support the Regiopole Office was also signed.
The Regiopole also made great strides at national level: the regiopole approach was incorporated into wider regional planning models and discussed at the ARL conference in Würzburg. Furthermore, other cities such as Bielefeld, Erfurt and Paderborn have also declared regiopole status.
